About false ceiling design.

A false ceiling is a second ceiling hung below the structural one. It hides wiring, pipes and ducts, holds the lights, and gives a room its shape, from a simple cove of soft light to a layered design that marks out the living and dining areas.

We design the ceiling with the room, the lighting and the air conditioning in mind, and build it in gypsum, POP, wood or other materials to suit the design and the space. Its height and depth are planned so the room never feels low.

How we work. On finishes and civil work, step by step.

  1. Site visit

We measure the space and check the walls, floors, ceilings, wiring and plumbing already there.

  2. Plan and choose

We plan the work and help you choose the ceiling, lighting, flooring, wall finishes and colours, with a detailed BOQ.

  3. Civil work first

Changes to walls and openings, plumbing and electrical are done before any finish, so nothing has to be opened up again.

  4. Finishes and quality check

The false ceiling, flooring, walls and paint, then a quality check of every surface before handover.

Questions. About false ceiling design.

Gypsum or POP: which is better for a false ceiling?

Gypsum boards go up quickly and give a clean, even finish, which suits most homes and offices. POP can be shaped on site into more detailed designs. We suggest one, or a mix, for each room.

Will a false ceiling make my room feel low?

Not if it is planned well. A cove or a border around the edges keeps most of the ceiling at its full height, and the lighting draws the eye upward.

Can a false ceiling hold the AC and the lights?

Yes. Cassette or ducted air conditioning, recessed lights, cove lighting and speakers can all be built into it, with access left for servicing.

Does a false ceiling need maintenance?

Very little. Access panels are left where wiring, pipes or AC units may need servicing, and a fresh coat of paint keeps it looking new.

How is a false ceiling priced?

By the area of the ceiling, the material and the design: a plain ceiling costs less than a layered one with coves and details. The BOQ lists it before any work begins.
